Trip Overview – Customize your experience
Experience a 12 day trip exploring the cities and culture of Japan. Immersing yourself in the Japanese culture will be an unforgettable experience. This “home stay” experience will have you sightseeing historic Japanese shrines and temples, lounging on beautiful beaches, enjoying a great marine biology experience, and Atomic Bomb education. All meals included (may vary based on exchange rate and airline taxes).
JAPAN
DAY 1 – FLIGHT
Denver to LAX transfer flights from LAX to Hong Kong.
DAY 2 – TRAVEL DAY
Land in Osaka and transfer to the hotel. Take the OCAT to Nanba Station.
DAY 3 – EXPERIENCE OSAKA
See the sights of Osaka. Visit Osaka Museum, Osaka Castle, and Osaka Castle Park.
DAY 4 – KYOTO
We will visit Kyoto and start with a visit the Royan-ji Temple. Next we are off to see it’s beautiful Ryoan-jo Temple Zen Rock Garden. End the day at the breathtaking Faitoku-ji Temple known for it’s seclusion and beauty.
DAY 5 – NARA
Spend the day in Nara exploring the park, where most of the city’s atractions are found, along with sacred deer thought to be messangers for the gods in the olden days.
DAY 6 – HIROSHIMA
Travel to Hiroshima and start the journey visiting the Himeju Castle. Built in the 1600s, it can be reached from Kyoto by train.
DAY 7 – HIROSHIMA
Explore Miyajima Island in Horishina. Afterwords, continue to Hiroshima City and visit the local Bomb Museum.
DAY 8 – SIGHTSEEING OKINAWA
Shurijo castle, Himeyuri Peace Museum, Okinawa Prefectural Peace Memorial Museum.
Accommodation: Okinawa Youth Exchange House, Naha.
DAY 9 – TOKASHIKI-JIMA ISLAND
10:00am-11:10am Ferry to Tokashiki Island.
Camping and star gazing experience.
Accommodation: Okinawa National Youth Exchange House, Tokashiki.
DAY 10 – TOKASHIKI-JIMA ISLAND
Snorkeling and glass bottom boat at private beach on Tokashiki Island.
Accommodation: Okinawa National Youth Exchange House, Tokashiki.
DAY 11 – TOKASHIKI-JIMA ISLAND
Snorkeling and glass bottom boat at private beach on Tokashiki Island.
4:00pm-5:10pm Ferry to Naha.
Accommodation: Okinawa Youth Exchange House, Naha.
DAY 12 – FUKUOKA
Meet in front of the hotel and see the sights of Fukuoka. Optional dinner at world famous fishing restaurant.
DAY 13 – FAREWELL
Unfortunately, all dreams must eventually come to an end. Early AM departure for the airport for our flight home.
HONG KONG
Not ready to go home yet? Continue your trip and take a short flight to Hong Kong to extend your trip, experience more culture, and create more memories.
DAY 13 – ARRIVE IN HONG KONG
Arrive Hotel and check-in. Dinner at hotel on own. After dinner lights out.
DAY 11 – EXPERIENCE HONG KONG
Spend the whole day visiting different parts of Hong Kong including Hong Kong Park, Mountain-View of the Hong Kong Skyline, Museums, and many more local attractions
DAY 12 – HONG KONG DAY 2
Meet at the Star Ferry Port where we will take a boat to Hong Kong Island and it’s surrounding attractions. Dinner after along with Hong Kong Skyline night show.
DAY 13 – FAREWELL
Unfortunately, all dreams must eventually come to an end. Early AM departure for the airport for our flight home.
