Day 1 – Arrival & Evening in Narita
Arrive at Narita International Airport (Narita). The group will begin the immigration process into Japan. Please have all QR codes ready to show on your phone to enter Japan. After immigration, we will complete the following items and spend your first night in Japan:

– Naritasan Park & Naritasan Shinsho-ji Buddhist temple tour

Day 2 – Travel to Tokyo
Today we will pack our belongings and travel to Tokyo where we will reside for the next week. Before our train departure, you’ll have some free time around Narita and in the station where you can enjoy some freshly baked goods at a local bakery. Around mid-afternoon, we’ll arrive at Shinjuku Station and take a short walk to our hotel.
You will learn about capsule hotel etiquette and familiarize yourself with the hotel and surrounding area. Once settled in, we’ll walk to and eat at Omoide Yokocho, a landmark alleyway that is home to a variety of excellent izakayas.

Day 3 – Shinjuku & Gyoen National Garden
We will begin in Kabukicho, a popular entertainment district famed for its unique atmosphere that blends old and new Tokyo. Perhaps the most notorious attraction in the area is the Toho Cinema Godzilla Head. After our morning explorations, we’ll venture out to Shinjuku Gyoen National Garden to experience a peaceful walk through one of Tokyo’s most treasured and pristinely kempt gardens. Lunch and shopping are next at Shinjuku Shopping Mall.
Travelers can then enjoy a unique 360-degree view of Tokyo with our Tokyo City View Excursion. The rest of the evening will be yours to explore on your own.

Day 4 – Harajuku & Shibuya
Today we will take a train from Shinjuku to Harajuku. We’ll spend our morning walking through Yoyogi Park and visiting the serene Meiji Jingu Shrine. Then, we’ll visit Harajuku’s vibrant Takeshita Street for lunch, shopping, and unique animal cafes (otters, dogs, cats, owls, potbelly pigs, etc.)
By midday, we’ll make our way to Shibuya, famous for its bustling Scramble Crossing and the iconic Hachiko Statue. You’ll have time to explore attractions like Shibuya Sky, Nintendo Tokyo, and the Pokemon Center in Shibuya Parco. Conclude the day back in Shinjuku by exploring the neighborhood on your own or joining the group for our optional Sushi Dinner excursion in the heart of Shibuya.

Day 5 – Asakusa & Senso-ji Temple
Today we’ll explore the popular Asakusa neighborhood of Tokyo. Upon arrival, those interested in walking around the area while wearing a traditional Kimono may choose to do so as part of our additional excursion package. We will enter Senso-ji Temple through the Great Gate Kaminarimon and wander down Nakamise-Dori Shopping Street where we’ll enjoy many street vendors and food stalls. There is so much to explore in the area, so we encourage you to venture off in any direction and explore at your discretion.
We’ll return to Shinjuku as a group where you’ll have free time.

Day 6 – Ueno Cherry Blossom Viewing & Akihabara
Today we’ll explore Ueno, a popular neighborhood in Tokyo for its diverse cuisines and parks full of cherry blossoms. First, we’ll take the subway to Ueno Park where we’ll explore Shinobazu no Ike Pond for some springtime cherry blossom viewing. This is a cherished activity each Spring in Japan and we’ll be lucky if we catch them in full bloom!
After our cherry blossom viewing, you’ll have a few options: Ueno Zoo is very popular if you’d like to stay in the area, soak up some more time near the cherry blossoms, and see some pandas. Another option is to explore the Ameyoko Shopping District for lunch and all your shopping needs. For all our Japanese tech and anime fans, Akihabara “Electric Town” is for you. It is known for colorful streets lined with stalls and department stores that showcase all things Japanese tech, gaming, anime, and manga. You’ll find anything from the classic NES and Gameboy systems to rare electronic collectibles only found in Japan, various figurine stores, and the famed Akihabara Gachapon Hall which sells a variety of inexpensive vending machine-dispensed capsule toys. However you decide to spend your afternoon, we’ll return home as a group and have some moonlit free time in Shinjuku.

Day 9 – Departure
Today marks our final day in Japan and our long journey home. Meet outside the hotel at 10:00 AM. Make sure you have all your belongings and your passport. We’ll spend some time at one of Japan’s most notorious stores––Don Quijote––which offers a vast collection of Japanese goods. This is your one-stop shop for all your souvenir needs before your flight. Once ready, you will board the Narita Express bound for Narita International Airport and bid farewell to Japan.
